Province will pay New Brunswickers to travel at home to boost tourism – CBC

The province has started a new program that will pay New Brunswickers to vacation at home this summer.

The province has created the Explore NB Travel Incentive program to help stimulate tourism in New Brunswick during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new program will allow New Brunswickers to apply for a 20 per cent rebate on eligible expenses made while taking a vacation, which includes a paid overnight stay in the province between July 15 and Sept. 30.

New mark for Canada Day Nature Challenge – Trail Times

The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is pleased to announce that Canadians have recorded 78,645 wildlife observations using the iNaturalist Canada platform between March and July 1, 2020 shattering the goal of hitting 50,000 observations by Canada Day.

Rocky Mountain Books publisher Don Gorman on selling outdoor guides during a pandemic

Victoria’s Rocky Mountain Books relies on people heading into the great outdoors for its guidebook sales. But in the early days of COVID-19, it was unclear when or if recreational trails would open. But as restrictions in provincial parks began to lift, RMB launched its “Great Canadian Staycation” campaign, promoting safe distancing and outdoor recreation.

RMB publisher Don Gorman spoke to Q&Q about the guidebook business.
