Over the course of the last two midnight sun filled Yukon summers a group of local Trail Builders and Groms have come together to create a new trail called Rock Lobster. The lower section of the trail is now open and ready for some action!

Starting June 1, 2020, the Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site started offering limited visitor access and basic services.
Visitors are now able to access the following services and facilities:
- The recreational lock is operating, seven days per week, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The public washroom is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Hiking on the Attikamek Trail
- The day-use areas and green spaces on North and South St. Marys Islands
- The east end parking lot
The east end parking lot is open, but as always, overnight parking and camping are strictly prohibited.

The mountains, waterways and geographic splendour of western Newfoundland are often considered an outdoor paradise, and are marketed that way around the world.
The COVID-19 pandemic, though, is cutting off national and international clientele from accessing the rugged landscapes and breathtaking scenery, which means that the summer of 2020 will be very different for businesses that rely on tourism.

FeNor has announced it is boosting the tourism industry with a total of $7.6 million in funding to support Northern communities to help job creation and assist with funding to promote the tourism industry which has been crippled due to COVID-19.
In Nipissing, Discovery Routes Trails Organization is receiving $82,800 in funding. The money will be used to implement a marketing strategy for the Voyageur Cycling Route in Northeastern Ontario.
"Discovery Routes is thrilled that the Federal government is supporting the Voyageur Cycling Route as an experience that will help the tourism sector recover," stated Jennifer McCourt, Executive Director of Discovery Routes.
"Cycling has seen a resurgence in popularity over the past decade with a rapidly growing demand for cycling destinations that connect visitors to the local community. In the context of COVID-19, bicycle tourism presents an opportunity for businesses to welcome back tourists that are attracted to Northern Ontario’s wide-open spaces and natural landscapes while sharing our stories of local heritage and culture."
