Canadian Trail Awards

ctfThe CTF-FCS has annual awards, recognizing members and their member communities for their national  contribution  at the  local,  provincial  or national  level  in the following categories.


Individual/Outstanding Achievement Awards

Appreciation Awards will be given annually to individuals for outstanding service ordeeds. These individuals will have made special contribution to the Canadian Trails that goes beyond the call of duty whether he or she is a volunteer or employee of any CTF- FCS member, a trail using group, a trail management or trail building organization or someone who has made a major contribution  to the  development  of trails in Canada.

Nomination Criteria:

When preparing supporting documentation for this Award, please include specific and detailed information and documentation. Include such information as a history of the individual’s involvement with trails and with the Canadian Trails Federation or its member organization.


Trail Builder Awards

Trail Builder Awards be given to member organizations in recognition for their efforts in completing  and opening  a section or  sections of trail, for special and unique activities on a section or sections of trail(s) which included the use of volunteers, user groups and the general public; and/ or for raising positive media attention  to a section(s)of trail, and trails in general; and/or for creative and special fund raising events for development of a section of trail of national significance, and/or for unique and special trail related communications  initiatives.

When preparing supporting documentation for this Award, please include specific and detailed descriptions of the achievements and include information and documentation such as press clippings or letters of support.


Trail User Group Awards

Trail User Awards are given to member associations in recognition for their successful efforts to encourage members and others, to use and be part of organized trail user groups, respecting land use, property rights, mixed use, safety practices and the law; and/or for encouraging, supporting and developing ways to make trails shared-use; and/or for special and unique initiatives and events to encourage the public to support and use trails.

President’s Award

This award is offered by the President of the CTF-FCS to a person or organization of special talent and expertise in the provision exemplary diplomatic and strategic relations in the trails community. The successful person or organization should possess strategic vision, cross-community support, and collaboration amongst organizations developing or managing trail and trail related programs  with the CTF-FCS

When preparing supporting documentation for this Award, please include specific and detailed information and documentation such as press clippings, letters of support and detailed examples of length of service to the Canadian Trails Community, Trails Building and Strategic Organizational Affiliations.
